Help clean up city as part of Volunteer Week

The City of Sioux City is encouraging residents and businesses to participate in National Volunteer Week, April 12-18.

The main concern is with trash pickup around the city as winter winds down. Of course, there are many ways to volunteer – call your favorite organization and ask how you can help.

An organized city-wide clean-up will be held April 18, beginning at 9 a.m. along the Perry Creek Trail. Gloves and garbage bags will be provided.

Residents picking up litter in their neighborhoods can request a litter clean-up kit by calling the city at 279-6349.

To volunteer or get more information, contact the City Environmental Services at 712-279-6349.
