Week Ahead: Painting Party, Hairball and lots of live music

Northern Lights Painting Party
Poppin’ Bottles n’ Brushes is hosting a painting party at their studio this Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. They will walk you through this beautiful Northern Lights painting step-by-step on 16 x 20 canvas. And the class is only $25! Bring your family and they will provide the hot cocoa and cookies!

Road to Vegas Battle of the Bands
This week kicks off Road to Vegas, Battle of the Bands at the Hard Rock. Thursday night’s bands will compete for a chance to move on in the Road to Vegas competition. This week’s bands are Saul, Beauty Killed the Beast and Fear the Broken. Come check out what each band has to offer this week! Show starts at 8 p.m. on the Anthem stage.

Hairball
A band puts on a concert – Hairball puts on an event! The lights, sound, video screens, smoke, fire, blood, bombs, confetti, spiders, snakes & monsters (oh my), and the screaming hordes of rabid Hairball fans create an event – an event that hits you so hard, it’ll take a few days to recover! Hairball is back this Friday night at 7 p.m. at the Sioux City Convention Center. Get your tickets early, price goes up on the day of the show.

Sex Knuckle
Sex Knuckle is a grungy, dark metal band from Fargo, N.D. Fronted by two “rockin’ chicks” they will knock you out with their heavy metal style. Check them out on Friday night starting at 9 p.m. at the Chesterfield. Opening will be Fear the Brocken and Stone Park Ritual.

No. 7 Band
No.7 Band combines the sounds of Modern & Classic Rock with Blues and Country, and throws in an extra shot of adrenaline. Their music can be as hard as a shot of your favorite whiskey, or a smooth, well timed pick-up line. They’re known for powerful vocals, laid back energy, an eclectic library of songs and playing something for everyone. Don’t miss the No. 7 Band at Doxx Warehouse Bar on Friday night. Show starts at 9 p.m.
