Sioux City has more than 5k users on Ashley Madison

It seems that Iowa has just as many lonely hearts as anywhere else in the world.

This week a Madrid, Spain, company that develops software turned the hacked data from the Ashley Madison company into an interactive map, showing where all 30 million users live. If you’ve been living in a hole for a week, Ashley Madison is the website with the slogan: Life’s too short, have an affair.

And guess what, Sioux City tallied more than 5,000 users on the site.

The data on the map doesn’t actually show where its registered users live, but instead is an interactive map based on the gender and city of users. The company stripped all sensitive data — name, address and email – out of the map. The 50,000 points on the map group together 30 million Ashley Madison accounts across the world. They also excluded deserted middle-of-nowhere cities where there were less than 10 users who could probably be busted by process of elimination.

It should be noted: Iowa recently ranked best in the nation for marriages that last with a divorce rate of just 2.4 per 1,000 weddings.

Either way, the map would indicate that there are either a lot of folks interested in extra-marital affairs, or who are just curious about the site.

On the map below, type in Sioux City, IA, and you’ll see our fair city on the map. Also, it seems that pretty much every other small town in the region has a showing, too.
