0Photos: iGran Fondo rides from Sioux City
On Saturday, June 20, the second annual riding of the Iowa Gran Fondo, or iGran Fondo, took riders on a long trek through the Loess Hills.
The cycling challenge, a nearly 100-mile adventure, allows cyclists to compete against each other, and themselves, for the best time. This year’s winner was Greg Gleason, who finished strong and fast with a time of 3 hours 56 minutes and 9 seconds.
Unlike RAGBRAI, which began Sunday, this ride is about speed. Whereas the cross-Iowa ride is focused on endurance and pace. So Saturday’s mile temps and tail wind helped make this race a quick one.
Here are photos from this year’s event.
