Annual Juneteenth Celebration

The Sioux City Chapter of the NAACP together with the Sioux City Human Rights Commission, Decatur Lodge #14 and Harmony Chapter #22 will be hosting the annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 15th from noon to 4:00 p.m. at Cook Park.  The rain location is Girls, Inc., 500 Main Street.

Juneteenth is a celebration that commemorates the day that the last of the American slaves finally learned of their freedom on June 19, 1865.

Our celebration will include free live entertainment, including music, dramatizations and steppers; education outreach by local community organizations.  Local vendors will be selling crafts.

Juneteenth is family-friendly event that is free and open to the public.
