0Kids can learn about mythology, history
Local children have an opportunity to learn about the mythology of their favorite stories.
The Sioux City Public Museum’s final summer camp, “Hammers, Lightning Bolts, and Maize,” runs from Tuesday, July 26 through Thursday, July 28 and is for ages 10 and up. Children enrolled will participate in games, eat food, make crafts, examine timelines, and watch videos to discover the history and culture of the Vikings, Ancient Greeks, and Mayans that many readers do not realize have inspired modern day fiction.
Camp sessions are 9 a.m. to noon all three days. Registration costs $40 for museum members and $45 for non-members. Scholarships are available based on financial need. For details, contact 712-279-6174 or museumeducation@sioux-city.org.
The Sioux City Public Museum is located at 607 4th St. in downtown Sioux City.
