0Pick up a pumpkin and help the Food Bank
Pick up pumpkin today and help a great cause, too.
The Great pumpkin sale for a great cause will be held outside of Lewis and Clark Elementary today from 3:15 to 5 p.m. Look for the Great Pumpkin wagon! The sale will be conducted by the student leadership at Lewis and Clark Elementary.
Proceeds from the sale will all be donated to the Food Bank of Siouxland to help fund the important BackPack Program: Food for Kids.
Last Friday, the South Sioux City High School volleyball team went to a field in South Dakota to pick pumpkins for the sale. The pumpkins were donated by the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union, Local 33.
“Come and pick your great pumpkin and support a great cause,” said organizer Erica Bowman. “We are so delighted,” said Food Bank of Siouxland Executive Director Linda Scheid. “These donors are making such a difference – from the union that donated the pumpkins, to the team that picked them, the students who are selling them, and the community who will buy them. We are so grateful for this outstanding support.”
