Week Ahead: Jazz, Country, Creativity and Hope

From Hope to Creativity, Jazz to country, there’s a big week on tap in Sioux City.

Business for Breakfast
The 2015 Business for Breakfast is this Thursday morning at the Sioux City Convention Center starting at 7:30. This year’s speaker is Jonathan Fanning. Fanning has been coaching leaders – from Fortune 500 executives to sole proprietors – for over 15 years. He is passionate about intentional leadership development in all aspects of life. He will inspire you to build great questions into your daily routine to become a better leader and create a culture of excellence. RSVP today to reserve your seat.

Building for Hope
Building For Hope is a Silent auction benefit supporting Noah’s Hope Animal Rescue. There will be music by Cat and the Cricketts, snacks, cash bar and lots of great silent auction items to bid on. Admission is $10.00 per person. Join us this Friday from 7 to 10 pm at the Bluffs Area Family Center to support this great cause.

The Miracle Worker
The Miracle Worker opens this Friday at the Sioux City Community Theatre. This classic tells the story of Annie Sullivan and her student, blind and mute Helen Keller. The Miracle Worker dramatizes the volatile relationship between the lonely teacher and her charge. With scenes of intense physical and emotional dynamism, Annie’s success with Helen finally comes with the utterance of a single, glorious word: “water”. With shows Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week, reserve your tickets now for this fantastic show.

An Evening of Jazz with Justin Kisor
Friday night head over to Vangarde Arts for An Evening of Jazz with Justin Kisor. Justin Kisor is one of the premier Jazz trumpet players in the country and he has put together a fabulous combo for this performance! One of the highlights will be another visit from master keyboardist Mitch Towne! Tickets are just $5 at the door and the show starts at 8.

Darius Rucker
Darius Rucker will be at the Tyson Events Center with his “Southern Style Tour” on Saturday night. The Hootie & the Blowfish front man turned country solo artist will be preforming songs from his latest album “Southern Style” along with some other hits, including No. 1 singles “Come Back Song” and “This”. Joining Rucker will be Guests David Nail and A Thousand Horses. Show starts at 7:30. Tickets are still available for this exciting night of music.
