0Going green for the Sioux City St. Patrick’s Day parade
Whether you are Irish or are Irish for a day, the Sioux City St. Patrick’s Day parade won’t disappoint.
The annual parade, which has grown through the years, is at 12:15 Saturday, March 15, in downtown Sioux City. So get your green on and get downtown early to get a seat on Historic 4th Street, the best place to watch the big event.
The parade begins at 3rd and Iowa streets, and parades down 3rd Street to Jackson Street before turning north for a block to 4th Street, where it turns east. From there, it’s a six-block run to the finish, at 4th Street and Floyd Boulevard.
But the fun really happens on 4th Street, with green beads, candy and free swag for the kids and kids at heart. Then you can head inside one of the local pubs or restaurants and get a green drink and some Irish grub.
