0Pet of the Week – Colada
Colada’s expression in her photo says it all: “Why won’t somebody love me?” Actually her family did love her, but their other dog did not, and Colada had to come back to Noah’s Hope to try again for a forever home.
Colada (think pina colada) is a Shar Pei mix, about 2 years old. When she came to us originally, she was blinded by a condition common to Shar Pei’s in which the lower eyelid rolls inward and the eyelashes irritate the eye. In Colada’s case, the irritation was so bad she could barely open her eyes. Our vets did surgery to correct the problem, and Colada now sees perfectly.
She is a high-energy girl who loves to romp and play. She is good with most dogs, but tends to be bossy – the typical alpha female – and will require either a home with no other dogs, or dog friends who are submissive or easy going. Colada loves people, and will happily become a lap dog for an evening of cuddling. Like most Shar Pei’s, she is protective of her home and family and will alert you, loudly, when someone comes to the door.
Colada is spayed, fully vetted, and ready to come home with you. If you want to give this sweet girl another chance for a great life, please call Deanna at 712-253-8394. Or visit our Facebook page or website for more information:

Noah’s Hope Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. We rescue the underdogs: the old, the sick and injured, the used-up by breeders, the forsaken and misunderstood. We nurse them, bring them back from the brink, and give them another chance. We believe they make the very best pets because somehow, they understand and are grateful.
