Pet of the Week – Marvin
Marvin was surrendered to Noah’s Hope by a person who was diagnosed with cancer and could not keep him. It is a heartbreaking situation for both Marvin and his owner. Now Marvin is looking for someone to love for the last years of his life. He’s a senior, about 13 years old, and like so many older dogs, he’s finding it tough to compete with the puppies and youngsters even though he would be a much easier pet to care for.
He’s a very sweet dog who doesn’t require a lot of exercise. He gets along great with his foster mom’s resident dogs. He is housebroken; however, he can’t hold it for very long. He would need someone who is home during the day with him, or a door that is open for him to go in and out. At night, he sleeps so soundly that he doesn’t wake up to go outside. Because of this, he wears a doggie diaper at night, just in case. His eyesight is better than his hearing, so things startle him a little.
Marvin loves to lie around on soft beds, and when no one is looking, the couch. He loves being around people, and would do well with another dog for company if someone is not home with him. He is very quiet and gentle and just wants to be loved.
