0Rock’n Rods to rev up downtown
Love hot rods? The smell of burning rubber? The shine of a freshly painted 1967 GTO?
Then get ready to rev up with the annual Rock’n Rods event, set for July 20 in downtown Sioux City.
Truly a celebration of all things car related, the event features a car show, live music and vendors through the afternoon and evening. We’ll also cruise the loop downtown. Past years have featured drag racing, but this year, because of street construction, it will not be included in the event. This popular event will return next year, according to event organizers.
So, what can you expect?
– A free show-n-shine event on 3rd Street from 3 p.m. to midnight.
– Car vendors are open from 3 p.m. to midnight on 3rd and Jones streets.
– A beer garden featuring 3 live bands – Mid Drift, Back Track, and Top Down. The beer garden is in the Heritage Parking Lot south side.
– Cruise the Loop on Nebraska & Pierce streets from 7-10 p.m. Bring any car – new or old – and show it off as we cruise the loop.
The event is billed as family friendly, and anyone is welcome to this free event. Find a map of the event and more info at rock http://www.siouxcityrocknrods.com.
