0Photos: Sun, fun and tunes at Saturday in the Park
Every year during the week of the 4th of July, Sioux City throws a big party in Grandview Park.
But this is no typical Independence Day celebration – Saturday in the Park is a downright rockin’ event, complete with festival food, fireworks, fun, friends and a day of incredible music. But that’s not even the best part.
It’s a free event. And is considered one of Iowa’s finest music festivals.
This year was no different, and found thousands of people soaking in the sun at Grandview Park with friends and family as they enjoyed a day of new and familiar music, food and camaraderie. In the surrounding neighborhoods, parties populated back yards and patios up and down the streets.
Headliners were Melissa Etheridge and Sublime with Rome. Earlier in the day, the Dirty Heads, ZZ Ward, Kris Lager Band and Tallgrass rocked the stage.
The event marked its 23rd year on July 6, and has become a tradition for many music lovers near and far. Attendees regularly converge on the gorgeous city park from across the Midwest and the nation, all in search of a day of fun, sun and great tunes.
