Firehouse Bar hosts Pajama and Lingerie Party this weekend
There are those people who go out in public in pajamas because they are too lazy to change into something publicly acceptable.
And there are those who go out in public in pajamas because they are comfortable, breathable and are a little bit risque.
If you fall into the latter group, you’ll likely want to take note of the the Lingerie & Pajama jam set for Aug. 14-15 at Firehouse Bar.
Let’s face it – women’s lingerie and men’s evening loungewear aren’t far from most trendy fashion lines. So why not celebrate these wayward nighttime articles for what they are: lazy, loose and out of the ordinary for most bar-goers.
“Who doesn’t love to dress up?” said Alethea at the Firehouse Bar, adding. “It helps break up the monotony of the regular bar weekend.”
Drink specials and cash prizes for the best outfits are all part of the fun, she said. “ We started it a few years ago and we even sometimes do it again in the winter.”
For the Firehouse, the pajama and lingerie party is a chance to interact with their customers in a new way.
“Customers love it because its something different. Most of the staff participate so (customers) like to see the outfits that their favorite bartenders & waitresses come up with.”
There’s also live music – this time around by the No. 7 Band, who performs a mix of rock, blues and alt classics Friday night.
“The funniest thing I have seen was the lead singer from 151 Unplugged in his bunny jammies,” said Alethea.
So drag out your favorite PJs and get ready for a night of fun downtown.
