Halloween events galore in Sioux City this weekend

FRIDAY

Music and costume contests

Enjoy a Costume Contest and the tunes of Toxic Brew at the Skyline Bar and Casino, 103 N. Hwy 105 in N. Sioux City. Music from 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. and costumes will be judged at 10 p.m.

Castle Grill and Pub, 4400 Singing Hills Blvd., will feature a Costume Contest and live music by the BackTrack Band from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

The Firehouse Bar, 1211 5th St., is hosting a Costume Contest with cash prizes both Friday and Saturday nights.

Doxx Warehouse, 1219 5th St., is hosting a Costume Contest with cash prizes both Friday and Saturday nights.

Costumed customers can win door prizes from 6-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights at the Costume Contest at BamBooze Dry Dock, 1085 Council Oak Dr.

Head to Warriors Sports Bar and Grill, 701 1st St, in Sergeant Bluff and get a free Devil’s Brew drink if you’re in costume.

Spookers Ball at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will feature a costume contest with cash prizes and live music by the Platinum Rock Legends.

WinnaVegas Casino Resort will host a Costume Contest and Halloween party with cash prizes. Registration starts at 7 p.m.

Theatre
Bram Stoker’s Dracula takes the stage at the Sioux City Community Theatre Friday and Saturday nights. In fact, the Halloween night show is at 10 p.m. Saturday’s show is at 7:30 p.m. Tickets available at the door.

“Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” is on stage Friday and Saturday nights at the Evelyn Larson Theatre, 413 Nebraska St. 8 p.m.

Haunted houses
Fear Factory and Nightmare on 4th Street provide scares galore in these haunted houses that run Friday and Saturday nights from 6:30-midnight.

Other haunted events
Children 12 and younger can trick-or-treat in the warmth of the Southern Hills Mall at Mall-O-Ween. Retailers throughout the mall share candy with the little costumed ones. 6-8 p.m.

Help hunt down zombies at the Pipe Dream Zombie Hunt from 8-midnight Friday and Saturday at 27669 Jasmine Rd. near Merrill. It’s a paintball fight with the zombies. More at www.pipedreamcamping.com.

Want a good, cheap scare? Explore the Haunted Tunnels underneath Briar Cliff University beginning at 6 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $1-3.

SATURDAY
Half Moon Bar and Grill, 714 S. Lewis Blvd., will host a Costume Contest with cash prizes on Saturday night with live music by the No. 7 Band. Music starts at 8 p.m.

Bud’s Bar on Main Street in Jefferson is hosting a Costume Contest with gift certificate prizes and music by Acoustic Entertainment.

Enjoy Haunted Bowling at Rush Lanes. Come in costume and pay just $5 for 2 games.
