Pet of the Week – Bear

scn_potw_bearBear is about a year old, and he’s seen a lot in his 12 months of life. When he was 2 months old, some horrible children tried to drown him. A good Samaritan woman stopped them and did CPR on Bear to save his life. She adopted him. But Bear did not forget what children did to him. At 8 months of age, a group of kids taunted him and he nipped a 10-year-old on the butt, tearing his jeans. His owner decided she could not keep him.

In his Noah’s Hope foster home, Bear has not shown any aggressiveness toward children. He is a happy-go-lucky guy who plays with a 10-year-old boy every day. Even so, we want to place him in a home with adults and older children only.

We aren’t sure what breed Bear is; possibly a retriever mix. Whatever he is, he has the most amazingly gorgeous coat. He has natural highlights that would cost a lot of money in a salon. He is still a pup with a lot of energy. He also still has some puppy chewing tendencies, but with exercise and chew toys he is a great companion.

Bear needs his chance in a caring home. He is potty trained, neutered, micro chipped and vaccinated. If you are looking for someone to be your best friend and who loves to snuggle on the couch, Bear is your guy. If you’re ready to bring him home, please call Deanna at 712-253-8394. Noah’s Hope Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. We rescue the underdogs: the old, the sick and injured, the used-up by breeders, the forsaken and misunderstood. We nurse them, bring them back from the brink, and give them another chance. We believe they make the very best pets because somehow, they understand and are grateful.
