0Walk with a Doc tonight on Sioux City riverfront
Are you fitness minded and enjoy meeting other people? Then join a doctor tonight for a walking moai on the riverfront in Sioux City. The event – Walk with a Doc – is free and open to the public.
That’s right – not only can you join a Blue Zones friendly moai (a group walk for a set distance) but you also can walk with a doctor.
Today’s walk is at 5:30 p.m. and begins at Bevs on the River. The walk is approximately 3 miles along the riverfront. Dr. Danielle Prince, a board-certified physician in family medicine at Siouxland Community Health Center, will lead the walk.
The purpose of Walk with a Doc is to encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages, and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle as well as promote general well being among participants.
There will be T-shirt and pedometer giveaways at the event.
Pre-registration is appreciated, but not necessary. Pre-register by calling Jessica with the Siouxland Community Health Center at 712-224-1803. Siouxland Community Health is sponsoring the event.
