Motley Crue has toured 34 times, and now, the 35th will be their farewell.

What does this mean?

It means that, on August 6, the legendary 80’s band, will be stopping in Sioux City to say goodbye.

“The Final Tour” has announced that they will be playing 72 concerts before retirement. Better yet, the the special guest opening act is none other than Alice Cooper.

The band decided to finally break up after three decades of hard rocking and partying. During a press conference, the band – Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Nikki Sixx, and Tommy Lee – signed a legal document stating the band is done. For good.

The long-haired, make-up wearing rockers of Motley Crue helped put the hair metal movement on the map in the 80’s. It will be sad to see them go after  selling more than 100 million albums worldwide and have released 9 albums, making them one of the most successful heavy metal bands in history.

What will they do you ask? Well Neil a said he would love getting into the restaurant industry. Sixx will focus on his new band, Sixx:A.M. He also said that he would love getting into writing broadway plays and continue his radio show.

Mars will be doing a solo album and writing a book on his life.

Tommy Lee has not come out with his plans, but said that he has some big surprises for us all.

One thing is for sure, Motley Crue may not be around for us anymore, but this is definitely not the last we will see of the members.

Pre-sales for the Motely Crue or Alice Cooper fan clubs are on sale now. Public tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Tyson Events Center Box Office, 401 Gordon Drive, all Ticketmaster outlets, online at Ticketmaster.com, or by calling 800-745-3000.
